Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive consultations and physical examinations for adult patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the healthcare team.
- Manage and monitor treatment side effects and adjust plans as needed.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to guide treatment decisions.
- Provide ongoing patient education and support to empower patients in their fight against cancer.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, pharmacists, and referring physicians, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Cerner electronic medical records system.
Qualifications for Success:
- Current board certification in Hematology/Oncology (BC/BE) is mandatory.
- Valid and active medical license in the state of Arizona or a willingness to obtain an Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) is required. We are not seeking willingness to relocate or obtain additional licensure at this time.
- Current certifications in ACLS and DEA are mandatory. BLS certification is preferred.
- Experience using Cerner, the electronic medical records system used at the facility, is preferred.
- Experience in a general medical oncology practice setting is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and staff.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial.
